Book an assessment
Say who you'd like to see, what kind of appointment you're after and a little about what's going on. The physio you choose replies to arrange a time. There is no GP letter to get first, and you'll know the name of the person you're coming to see before anything is confirmed.
Sam “You don't need to know what's wrong before you book. Working that out is my job, not yours.”
What it costs
Two prices, and that is the whole list. The same figures are printed on the wall by the kettle, so what you read here is what you'll see when you come in.
-
Initial assessment
£68Your first appointment for a problem: the questions, the examination, a plain explanation and a plan to take home.
-
Follow-up
£52Every appointment after the first, with the same physiotherapist unless they've suggested otherwise.
-
No packages, no “from” prices
Nobody will try to sell you a block of six. You pay for the appointment you have, and how many you need is a conversation at the end of the first one, not a decision you make before you've been seen.
-
You don't need a GP letter
No GP referral is needed to book. You can come straight to Sam, Jo or Helen. If whoever sees you thinks your problem needs someone other than a physiotherapist, they'll tell you so at that first appointment.
-
Claiming on health insurance
About half the people who come in are claiming. Say so when you book, and name your insurer. Before the appointment is confirmed you'll be told exactly what to check with them, because policies differ in what they ask for first and it's better to know that before you sit down than after.
When we're open
Three evenings a week until half past seven, and Saturday mornings, because a lot of people can't get away in the day. Not every one of us is in for every hour, so say in your booking when suits you and the right person will find a time.

Getting here
The clinic is in Kendal, with a car park, and every room you'll use is on the ground floor. From where you park to the chair you'll sit in there is no step and no stair.
-
Ground floor, step-free
Ground-floor rooms, step-free from the car park. The waiting area, all three treatment rooms and the small Pilates studio are on the same level as the door.
-
On crutches or with a frame
Say so when you book. Someone will watch for you and meet you at the door, and there's no hurry between the car and the room. Nobody here has ever minded a slow walk.
-
Being dropped off
If someone is bringing you, they can pull up by the door and you can go straight in while they park. Your booking reply will have the street address and anything else you need to find it.
Jo “If you can't manage the car park yet, don't come. I'll come to you for the first weeks and we'll do the car park together when you're ready.”
Not sure? Ask us first
Helen “Tell me what's going on and I'll tell you honestly whether physiotherapy is the right thing, and if so which of us you should see.”
Plenty of people write before they book: they don't know whether a physio is the right person, whether their problem is a Sam one or a Helen one, or whether it's worth coming in at all. One of the three of us reads it and replies by name. It costs nothing to ask and nobody will chase you.
